I am so excited (besides the fact I had 3 interviews today with great companies and I have another lined up for next week) - my dad picked me up from the train station in his new cop car. I immediately raced to the car and asked him did this mean we were testing out the lights and sirens in this bad boy - he laughed at me and called me crazy.
But let me explain - I have such a fascination with his job - it's like watching tv, but up close and personal - when his blackberry goes off and he runs upstairs to grab his police radio I am right on his heels - this means something is going on - ironically, through twitter I sometimes update him before he even knows some things have happened and then he jumps in motion - so I am like his personal assistant, right?!
In any event, I have been begging and pleading with him to let me ride in his car with the lights & sirens blaring in similar police pursuit action - I even use tv as my defense (we love all the cop shows and watch them together) - dad look Commissioner Reagan took his daughter and she isn't even a cop - she's a lawyer - he took her to the range too and Danny took his niece when he was visiting a crime scene, so that little boy experienced it, but not me - that's not fair dad (re: Blue Bloods) - he always calls me crazy -
Since we were getting close to home I started negotiating - I told him just do a small part of the street - then he says he hasn't even used the lights and sirens in this car yet - so I responded well dad, we should test this out, you would hate to need them and find out they don't work (although I am sure their mechanics checked this before giving him the car) - he kept looking at these buttons on the dashboard - and I exclaimed ARE THOSE THE BUTTONS as my fingers started itching to touch - and he said if I put the lights on, you can't see them from the inside and then he flicked the switch and we had lights folks - woohooooooooooooo and yes, I could see their reflection when I turned around to look - so I started mimicking the sound and asked where were the sound effects - next thing you know we had action, LIGHTS AND SIRENS - and yes, it was as exhilarating as I thought it would be - the only thing I didn't get was the cop like pursuit - but I knew that wasn't going to happen - lol! Officially crossing that off of my 30 before 30 list.
Do you guys thing he will cave in and take me to the gun range next?!

Well I think that he should cave and take you to the gun range. Every modern woman should at least KNOW how to fire a gun. Uncle Jesse took me down to the basement when no-one was home and taught me, when I was a teen. This is not common knowledge Holls. I believe knowing how to defend yourself often prevents you needing to do it. Also he should make sure his children are well protected and skilled in self defense, yet set up life so that you don't need it.
